The Canes rallied to beat the Stars 6-4.

The Carolina Hurricanes put together a furious rally in the third period to comeback and beat the Dallas Stars 6-4 Monday night at Lenovo Center.

Seth Jarvis and Sebastian Aho led the way with a goal each and Brent Burns, Shayne Gostisbehere, Martin Necas and Andrei Svechnikov joined in on the fun too.

After the game, Hurricanes coach Rod Brind'Amour along with goaltender Spencer Martin, Aho and Jarvis spoke with the media. Here's what they had to say:

Rod Brind'Amour

On what got things going in the third period:
Jarvy. And Seabass. Really two shorties essentially, right? That kind of drug us in tonight. Jarvy, his performance there. We were obviously not going great. Wasn't terrible, but it just certainly wasn't up to what we're expecting. But that shift just, 'Okay, now we're back in it.' Then the building kind of got going and you could just feel the bench kind of getting juiced up. I thought we had a good period obviously.

On having to wait 47:51 for their first power play opportunity: It was a weird night that way, I'll just leave it at that. It's not worth talking about. But it was strange.

On what a game like this says about his team: I hope it tells the guys. It doesn't tell me anything. I already know what we have. It's just, can they grasp how we have to play every shift? I think sometimes we get a little off and try to do things differently, then all of a sudden, we get to the way we have to play and it looks... we don't always get the result like that, but you're giving yourself a chance. Really, a game like that, that's what you're hoping you get out of it.

On Spencer Martin's clutch saves in the third period: It's always about when you make your saves. That was critical. Big, big saves there. I know it's not a lot of shots against, but it was a lot of good ones when they got theres. I thought he was good.

On Shayne Gostisbehere and Brent Burns' goals: Listen, that was a huge power play goal there at the time and Burnzie's obviously too. I mean, they were all big goals obviously in that game, but it was nice to see Burnzie get that. He had been kind of snake bitten a little this year and it was nice for him to get it at that time in that big of a moment.

On his third period line shuffles: We just needed a little kick. Something a little different. That's all. We had one line that I liked the whole game and you guys know what line that is. It's obvious. It's always that line. Everyone else was kind of 'eh.' So it was just trying something.

On Seth Jarvis' return: It's huge. You're not really sure how the kid's going to respond. He hadn't practiced. I mean, he practiced on his own, but... you don't know what he's going to bring and obviously he was the best player, I thought, on the ice. So he's a special player, we've known that and to do it after sitting out for a couple of weeks or whatever, that says a lot about him.

Spencer Martin

On the game:
Not every game is going to be as simple as others. There were some factors that I probably shouldn't talk about that could get me fined. When you're competitive, it fuels you up. But we battled and credit to these guys, we stuck with it in the third period and it was awesome to see that.

On battling back: I want to get off to a great start every game and get the lead and play from there. Coming from behind is hard in this league but we did a good job at it though.

On the team rallying back: I mean, it's awesome. As a goalie, you know you give up some goals and then to know that this is the type of team that has the character to come back it's fun to play behind.

On his third period: I think I was just feeding off of the team's energy. We had the momentum so it was easy for me to get excited and make a big save.

Sebastian Aho

On making their power plays count:
That's huge. I mean, most of the time, if you stick with it, you're going to at least get one look on the power play and it happened and obviously we made it count.

On the team sticking with it: Spence, another great game by him obviously. He kept us in it. It wasn't going our way, but having said that, they did a really good job of making it tough on us. They didn't make any mistakes it felt like. I felt like they just high-flipped the pucks out and they didn't give up any rush chances. So it was tough to get momentum, but it was good to come back from that one.

On the team being loose in the first two periods: It was a good job by them. We were playing in our own end most of the two periods. It's tough. You see it the other way when we got the momentum. It's tough to play the game in your own d-zone and I guess they did a really good job in the first half of the game to be in our zone and then it kind of flipped. I don't know if we were loose, but it's hard.

On being back alongside Seth Jarvis: Huge plays by Jarvy. He just brought a lot of energy and made really nice plays. Happy to have him back.

On if he was surprised he was good as he was coming back from injury: No, no. Not at all.

Seth Jarvis

On what he was aiming to do in his return:
I was just trying to bring energy and try to drag everybody into the fight especially after the start. I mean, you can't ask for much more.

On getting his feet going: I felt better than I initially thought I was gonna, but it was honestly just getting used to the speed again. Getting used to guys flying at you after two weeks of just stick handling through cones. It was a good game to kick it off.

On his goal: I don't know. It was just a good play at the line. Just trying to keep it out and I knew Fishy was going to jump so it was just catching up with him and he made a great pass over to me and it was just knowing that the goalie was going to slide and just put it where he's coming from. Just trying to put it on net.

On his great stickwork setting up and scoring the goal: Sometimes I surprise myself. I got a little bit of skill deep down.

On the feelings when the team starts rolling: That third was exactly what we needed. It was a lot of credit to the older guys in her just keeping us composed and knowing that when we find our game that we need to trust it and that good things will happen.

On the goalie situation: Spence played great. I think the goalie situation is alright. Obviously you don't want to see guys get hurt, but we have all the confidence in the world in Spence back there and he did a great job tonight.

On if he was surprised the team actually ended up with a power play after waiting for over 45 minutes to get one: Yeah, a little bit. I didn't know what was going to happen, but that's just a lot of credit to the guys on the power play staying ready. Ghost obviously got a big one and then Neci getting them anyway he can. It was just a great job overall by us.

On if the team had faith still heading into the third period: We always have faith in ourselves. I think that's what makes this team so good is that we never feel out of it and like we showed there tonight, just sticking with it. We didn't find it in the first 40. We had glimpses, but we knew it was in there and that it was in there for us to take. So just being able to come in there, start the third the way that we did and then build off of it was huge.

On Brent Burns getting in the goal column: Everyone loves when he scores. I think he loves scoring more than anybody I've ever seen. Him getting that one is huge for him and just for the team in general.
