The Carolina Hurricanes continue to stay hot on their season-long road trip as they picked up yet another win, defeating the Calgary Flames 4-2 Thursday night.
It was a bit of a slow start for the Hurricanes at first, we're talking about maybe five minutes, before the team just took over.
Carolina dominated the first period and got rewarded for it with Seth Jarvis scoring a power play goal just over 12 minutes in.
After winning the proceeding faceoff, Sebastian Aho then found Jarvis alone toward the side of the net and the winger casually skated to the net-front and shot the puck past Flames goaltender Dan Vladar.
The Hurricanes kept riding their momentum into the second period with Jack Roslovic and Martin Necas each scoring before two minutes had even passed.
Roslovic cleaned up a rebound in front off a Brent Burns shot and then Necas beat Vladar top corner from the right circle for his 100th career goal.
However, despite the strong first 30 minutes, the Canes began to falter as the Flames began to push back.
Jake Bean beat Pyotr Kochetkov with traffic in front after Calgary won an o-zone draw and then Jonathan Huberdeau made it a one-goal game late in the third as he put home a rebound chance in tight.
While the Flames pushed hard, Kochetkov and the Canes shut it down from there, killing off two third-period penalties in the process.
As the game wound down, Eric Robinson sealed the game with an empty-net dagger.
In fact, Kochetkov picked up his first career point on the final goal as he was the one who cleared the puck out to Robinson.
The Hurricanes will continue their road trip with a 10 p.m. faceoff against the Seattle Kraken on Saturday, Oct. 26.
