The Carolina Hurricanes must win Game 5 against the Florida Panthers, or they will be eliminated from the playoffs. The Hurricanes are entering this matchup with some momentum, however, as they defeated the Panthers by a 3-0 final score in Game 4.

If the Hurricanes hope to build off their Game 4 win and secure another victory in Game 5, they will need their entire roster to be on their A-game. However, the Hurricanes will be hoping for these three players, in particular, to step up in Game 5.

    Jaccob Slavin

If the Hurricanes hope to win Game 5, they will need top defensive defenseman Jaccob Slavin to shut down the Panthers. The Denver, Colorado native makes the Hurricanes a far better team when he is on his game, and it will be interesting to see what kind of performance he has from here.

In 14 games this post-season for the Hurricanes, Slavin has recorded two goals, four points, and a plus-10 rating.

    Frederik Andersen

Frederik Andersen was the main reason why the Hurricanes won Game 4, and they will be hoping he has another big performance up his sleeve in Game 5. The 2012 third-round pick thrived in Game 4, putting together a 20-save shutout.

When playing at his best, like he did in Game 4 and during the first two series of the Hurricanes' playoff run, Andersen is an excellent goalie. If he continues to play well in Game 5, it will help the Hurricanes' chances of winning the contest.

    Seth Jarvis

Seth Jarvis will be another Hurricane to watch incredibly closely in Game 5. The 23-year-old forward has been one of Carolina's top players this playoffs, as he has five goals and leads the team with nine assists and 14 points in 14 games.

With this Jarvis is a huge part of the Hurricanes' offense, and they will be hoping he carries them to a victory in Game 5.
