The Carolina Hurricanes have announced that they have signed goaltender Nikita Quapp to a two-year, entry-level contract for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons.

Quapp, 22, was selected by the Hurricanes with the 187th overall pick of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. Since then, the young goaltender has been continuing to develop his game in Germany. However, after signing this entry-level deal, he is now set to begin his North American professional career.

Quapp spent most of this season with Lausitzer Fuchse of the DEL2, where he had an 11-14-0 record, a .920 save percentage, and a 2.63 goals-against average. He also played in nine games for Dusseldorfer EG of the DEL this campaign, posting a 0-5-0 record, a 4.08 goals-against average, and a .870 save percentage.

With the Hurricanes signing Quapp to this ELC, the Metropolitan Division club now has another interesting goalie prospect in their system to watch.
