My name is Ryan Henkel and I couldn't be more excited to share that I will now be covering the Carolina Hurricanes and operating the team site here for The Hockey News.
I'm thrilled to have this opportunity and look forward to bringing you as much coverage and content as I can.

I have been covering the Hurricanes for four seasons now and will be heading into my fifth. I started fully covering the team in 2019 for Technician, NC State's student-run new organization, and then joined Canes Country in 2020 as a staff writer.
This past season, I took over as site manager for Canes Country and got to cover a great one which included the Stadium Series at Carter-Finley, Cam Ward's induction into the Carolina Hurricanes Team Hall of Fame, a few really awesome comeback games and a commendable postseason run.
In terms of general season coverage, I have covered free agency, development and training camps, preseason, regular season games and practices, trade deadline, and the playoffs for multiple years now and I plan to continue doing that right here.
I also will continue to be providing in-depth analysis pieces, feature stories and more as the season goes along.
