The Carolina Hurricanes announced today that they have trimmed their training camp roster down to 44 as they reassigned defenseman Bryce Montgomery to the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL and released forward Jayden Halbgewachs from his PTO.
Montgomery (2021, 6th) appeared in one preseason game for Carolina and had one shot, three blocks and a hit in 16:53 of ice time.
Halbgewachs (PTO) skated in two preseason games and had a goal — the first of the preseason for Carolina — and four shots in 12:56 ATOI.
The two join Jakub Vondras (2022, 6th) — who was reassigned to the Sudbury Wolves of the OHL a few weeks prior — as the only roster cuts so far.
However, following tonight's game, we can probably expect quite a few more.
