The Carolina Hurricanes selected defenseman Charles-Alexis Legault from the Quinnipiac Bobcats of the NCAA 139th overall.
The 6-foot-3 defenseman was part of Quinnipiac's NCAA championship team and plays a solid two-way game.
A right-handed shot, Legault already has NHL size and perhaps needs just a little time in the AHL to finish developing before making the jump to the NHL.
While he doesn't have tremendous upside, he could still be solid bottom-pairing defenseman for the team.
The Hurricanes were perhaps the team most familiar with Legault being that he was teammates with Skyler Brind'amour, Carolina head coach Rod Brind'Amour's son.
Brind'Amour ended up scouting many of Quinnipiac's games supporting his son, and found perhaps a few gems because of that.
This is now the second Quinnipiac player the Canes have added in the last year, as they signed goaltender Yaniv Perets to an ELC earlier in the year.
