The Carolina Hurricanes blew the Arizona Coyotes out in a 5-1 victory Friday night at Mullett Arena.

The Hurricanes had a rotating cast of goal scorers in the win with Jordan Martinook, Jalen Chatfield, Seth Jarvis, Teuvo Teravainen and Michael Bunting all finding the back of the net.

Pyotr Kochetkov stopped 30 of 31 in the win.

    Period 1

The Canes didn't need long to set the tone in the desert as Jordan Martinook cleaned up a rebound just 16 seconds into the game to put Carolina on the board.

Martinook's tally was also the fifth fastest in team history to start a game.

The Hurricanes kept the pressure up and not too long after the first, they grabbed a second.

Martin Necas tried his patented entry-to-wraparound move and while Karel Vejmelka got across on his fellow Czech, the rebound popped right out to Chatfield in the far circle for the put back.

The Canes were rolling out the gate, however about halfway though, the Coyotes started to find their footing.

The neutral zone sloppiness that was apparent in Tuesday's loss to the Dallas Stars started to pop back up and Kochetkov had to be up to the task.

However, Arizona would cut the lead to one after Dylan Guenther burst through the neutral zone and ripped one past Kochetkov.

    Period 2

The Canes started to dial the game back in at the start of the second period following a strong penalty kill.

Carolina also started to turn the physicality up a bit as well.

The Canes' pressure paid off again before long as this time Seth Jarvis was Johnny on the spot and sniped a spin-and-shoot top corner.

It seemed that late first period push by the 'Yotes was a wake-up jolt for Carolina, because they just put the hammer down in the second.

They gave up hardly anything and kept firing at the Coyotes and even converted on the power play.

Late in the period, and on the Canes' first power play of the game, Teuvo Teravainen crashed the net and tucked home a rebound to push the team's lead to three.

Kochetkov only had to face five shots that period, but he still had to be sharp, especially against Guenther who was noticeable all night.

    Period 3

Another early kill, yet another goal by a former Coyote.

After killing a Martinook tripping call, the Canes forced an o-zone draw and after a faceoff win by Necas, and some zone time, Bunting threw a no-look backhander through Vejmelka's legs.

Funny enough, Necas had gone 0-for-4 in the dot leading up to the win.

Oh yeah, and Kochetkov's still got it.
