Big news out of Arizona today as Carolina Hurricanes team reporter Walt Ruff has confirmed that netminder Frederik Andersen took part in a full-team practice today.
Andersen has been out of the lineup since early November when a routine medical exam discovered a blood-clotting issue, which the team later revealed was deep-vein thrombosis and subsequent pulmonary embolisms.
The Canes reported on Jan. 31 that Andersen had been undergoing off-ice training and was set to return to on-ice activities soon.
While he had been seen working out before practice a handful of times, he hadn't been seen with the team on the ice until today.
Obviously there is still no confirmed timeline for Andersen, but it's still promising news for the Hurricanes, especially with Antti Raanta having been sidelined for at least a couple of weeks with a lower-body injury.
