The Carolina Hurricanes have announced their 2023-24 jersey schedule which will feature four different jersey sets this year.
These include the black, Hurricane-warning flag jerseys - which are the new home primaries - the red, Hurricane swirl jerseys that used to be the primary will now be the home alternates, the white, diagonal 'CANES' jersey will be the road primary and then the Whalers jerseys will again make their return.
The black jerseys will be worn 27 times at PNC Arena, the reds will be worn 13 times at PNC Arena, the Whalers jersey will be worn on Whalers Night which will take place February 10 against the New Jersey Devils and the white jersey will be worn for the 41 road games.
There are no fun reverse retro jerseys this year to marvel at and this will also be the last year of the Adidas partnership. Moving forward, Fanatics will produce the NHL game-worn jerseys.
There is also some sadness over the departure of the 25th Anniversary jerseys which honored the Hurricanes' past. The team wore the vintage-inspired jerseys last season as their alternates and even made them the primary for the playoffs.
However, per Canes team reporter Walt Ruff, the team may revisit them in the future.
The process for planning out specialty jerseys or modifications to the kits for a given season occurs nearly two years out and especially given the transition of manufacturers from Adidas to Fanatics, the Hurricanes won't have any surprises this year or next.
But be on the lookout for updates in 2025-26.
