The Carolina Hurricanes have announced that center Sebastian Aho will miss Tuesday night's game against the San Jose Sharks due to an upper-body injury.
He played the full game Sunday against the Anaheim Ducks and even took the morning skate prior to tonight's game.
Aho has a goal and three points on the season as the team's number-one center and has been a staple of both the penalty kill and power play.
Without Aho, the Hurricanes will move Teuvo Teravainen to 1C and bump up Stefan Noesen to the second line.
Aho has only missed 14 games over the course of his career, so it isn't normal to see the team without him.
The Canes will hope that whatever is affecting their franchise center will quickly pass and he can return to game action soon.
The story will be updated should more information become available.
UPDATE: Following the game, head coach Rod Brind'Amour said that Aho had sustained the injury during the Anaheim game, but that the team doesn't think it will be that serious.
"He did something at the end of last game that we didn't think was going to be that serious, but again, with what we're dealing with, if you're not 100%, you're not going," Brind'Amour said. "He'll get relooked at and we'll take it from there."
