The rookie forward has had a strong start to the year with three goals and five points in 10 games.
Heading into training camp, Carolina Hurricanes forward Jackson Blake was a longshot to make the team.
I mean, despite having been a Hobey Baker finalist following a 60-point season at the University of North Dakota, the 21-year-old forward had never even been to an NHL training camp before.
But Blake killed it at camp and had an even stronger pre-season, leaving the coaching staff with no choice but to keep him on the roster.
Since then, Blake has been great for the Canes with three goals and five points in 10 games and due to that, the team informed him that he was going to be sticking around for the long haul.
Since he's here to stay, I figured it would be good for fans to get to know the rookie a little better.
So on Monday, I sat down with Blake to ask him 10 rapid-fire questions.
Blake: Chipotle
What's your order?: White rice, double chicken, corn, sour cream, cheese and then I get a side tortilla with the bowl and I like to put half of it in there and I also get some vinaigrette.
Blake: Zach Bryan.
Blake: Augusta.
Blake: Patrick Kane.
Blake: Friends.
Blake: Dog.
Do you have any?: I have two.
Blake: Professional golfer, hopefully. I love to golf. I try to play six days a week in the summer.
Blake: Play Fortnite
Blake: The Bahamas.
Blake: Everyone's been so good, but probably right now, I'm closest with Jack [Drury]. So Jacko.
This is just a small part of the conversations I had with Blake and there will be a bigger feature story coming out later this week.
Stay tuned!
