The Carolina Hurricanes' 2024-25 season came to a close earlier this week as the team lost in five games to the Florida Panthers in the Eastern Conference Final.

On Friday, select players met with the media in Raleigh for their end-of-season interviews.

On if he's had any discussions with the team yet on a potential extension: I'm definitely interested in [re-signing]. I think it's been a good fit. We've had some conversations. Both sides are willing to get something done.  It just sometimes takes time, I guess.

On what his priorities are for a new contract: With a family, you start thinking about maybe term. Seeing if you can set roots somewhere obviously for more than a one or two year deal.

On what went into having a career year in Carolina: Probably just opportunity. I felt like I got a good chance here from the beginning. Got to play up and down the lineup and probably confidence too. Once you have a good start and you're playing every night, I think it just builds.
