It's no secret that Carolina Hurricanes forward Sebastian Aho is clutch.

The Finnish centerman has been one of the league's top players since he entered the league, and he's led the Canes in goals in seven of the last eight seasons.

Just take these past postseason for instance, where Aho's double overtime dagger against the New Jersey Devils sent the Hurricanes to the second round of the playoffs.

Sebastian Aho sends Carolina Hurricanes to second round of playoffs with 2OT goal.

But according to one key stat, Aho is actually quantifiably one of the most clutch players currently in the NHL.

Over the last three seasons, only one player has more game-winning goals than Sebastian Aho and that is Edmonton's Leon Draisaitl, who edges the Finnish center out by just one.

Aho's 28 game-winning goals is the second most in the league over that span (tied with Tampa Bay's Brayden Point) and it's no wonder why he ranks so high on that list.

The franchise cornerstone is the team's top forward and one who is out in any and every situation for the team.

He's one of the best two-way players in the league and is a monster on special teams, whether that's on the power play or in shorthanded situations (no player has more shorthanded goals [20] than him since he entered the league)

A big proponent in Aho's favor too is his dominance at 3v3 overtime. Over the last three years, he and Draisaitl lead the league with nine OT goals a piece.

In fact, since Aho entered the league (2016-17), he still ranks second in total overtime goals (16), again behind only Draisaitl.

Even though he's one of the best, the Finnish star is the type of player who's never satisfied and he'll keep doing everything he can to help Carolina once again lift a Stanley Cup.

"You’re constantly trying to find a thing or two to make you stronger or faster or more balanced or whatever it is," Aho said at his end-of-year exit interview. "The work definitely doesn’t stop in terms of working on my craft and trying to figure out how to get better. That’s always going to be there."
