"I think he's just been energized," said Carolina coach Rod Brind'Amour. "He looks sharp and fresh. I think this time of year, that's kind of how it goes, but he's typically not cashed in early, so hopefully this continues."

Under the hood, Aho has also had the best chance share numbers amongst all Canes forwards, with a 66.19% Coris For, 67.86% High Danger Chances For and an expected goals for percentage of 69.72.

His five-game point streak also coincides with the team's four-game winning streak and this all comes with him being without his most common linemate in Seth Jarvis, who remains sidelined after undergoing offseason shoulder surgery.

"I think he's done a really good job of being aggressive, not playing on the perimeter and just being more direct with his offense," Jarvis said. "I think shooting has been a big part for Fishy. I think he can sometimes defer a little too much, but he has a really good shot."

In addition, Aho paces the team in shots on goal (22) and faceoff win percentage (60.3%) too.

Brind'Amour always says your top guys have to be your best players and so far that's been ringing true for Aho.
