Seth Jarvis will once again be back in the lineup for Team Canada as they take on Team USA in the 4 Nations Face-Off championship tonight at TD Gardens.
The Carolina Hurricanes forward played in the team's first two games against Team Sweden and Team USA, registering an assist and a 50% faceoff win percentage while averaging just 11:07 of ice time including time on both the PP and PK.
However, following the 3-1 loss to Team USA, Jarvis ended up as a healthy scratch against Team Finland for Philadelphia Flyer Travis Konecny.
Jarvis, 22, is the youngest member of Team Canada and as such, was the most likely player to come out of the lineup when coach Jon Cooper was looking to shake things up.
"It's disappointing for him," said Hurricanes coach Rod Brind'Amour on Wednesday about the scratch. "I actually thought he played really well, but that's what happens when you come to these things. There's 22 or however many guys and everyone can play. He's the young one on the totem pole too and we get how that works."
But now, he's back in and ready to go for tonight's 8 p.m. EST puck drop in Boston.
Jarvis took line rushes alongside Sam Bennett and Brad Marchand yesterday so those are his expected linemates for tonight too.
Canada is going need all hands on deck if they want to get the better of Team USA and take home the 4 Nations Face-Off trophy and Jarvis is capable of playing just as big of a role as anyone else.
