The Carolina Hurricanes opened their 2024-25 season by announcing the full opening roster. The Canes were supposed to have played at least two by now, but the Oct. 12 game in Tampa Bay was postponed due to the impacts of Hurricane Milton. There's also the fact that New Jersey played the first two games of the year in Czechia as part of the NHL Global Series which kicks off the new season. The Hurricanes unfortunately are a team still looking to figure out their game after a disheartening 4-1 season opening loss to the Lightning, so the time off has really not been helpful while the Devils have really found an early groove.
