(David Kirouac-Imagn Images) The Carolina Hurricanes number one netminder could be back sooner rather than later. The Canes held a limited practice on Thursday and Frederik Andersen was on the ice, taking shots along with the team's extras. The 35-year-old netminder was initially injured in Game 4 [https://thehockeynews.com/shortUrl/ci7OQaq]against the New Jersey Devils after a collision with Timo Meier, and was not available for Game 5. He was labeled as day-to-day at the time [https://thehockeynews.com/shortUrl/e6lkuWe] and now seems like he could very well be ready to go for Round 2 against the Washington Capitals. The Hurricanes will hold a full practice Friday morning. "I expect him to practice tomorrow and then we'll see," said Hurricanes coach Rod Brind'Amour Thursday. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Be sure to check out the Carolina Hurricanes 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs Hub [https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/carolina-hurricanes/latest-news/carolina-hurricanes-2025-stanley-cup-playoffs-hub] for all postseason stories! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stay updated with the most interesting Carolina Hurricanes stories, analysis, breaking news and more!
