The Chicago Blackhawks announced on Wednesday that they signed goalie prospect Adam Gajan to a two-year entry-level contract. This deal will carry a cap hit of $1.05 million through the 2027-28 season.
This season, Gagan had a career high in games played (33), wins, save percentage (.908), goals against average (2.25), and shutouts (2) at the University of Minnesota Duluth. He was also the third-string goalie on Team Slovakia in Milano Cortina at the Winter Olympic Games.
The Blackhawks selected Gajan in the second round (35th overall) of the 2023 NHL Draft. His strong sophomore season earned him this deal after a rough freshman year.
In the NCAA Tournament, Gajan and Duluth were responsible for eliminating Gavin McKenna and Penn State before losing out in the following round. Now, he's ready to begin his pro career.
