On Thursday, the Chicago Blackhawks announced that Sam Rinzel would be headed to the Rockford IceHogs while the rest of the team is on their Olympic break. This is a chance for Rinzel to play and work on his overall skillset.
In 31 games with Chicago this season, Rinzel has two goals and seven assists for nine points. During his 19 game stint with Rockford, he collected two goals and eight assists for 10 points. He showed tremendous growth while down in the AHL so some more time there is nothing but great for his development.
Expect Rinzel to return to Chicago once the Olympics are over.
