The Chicago Blackhawks actually scored more than one goal in a game.
And those extra goals were timely, too.

Nick Foligno and Jason Dickinson connected late in the third period to send Friday night's contest against the New York Rangers to overtime tied at 3 and earn Chicago a point.
But Mika Zibanejad beat Petr Mrazek with a high shot at 2:36 of the extra period to win it 4-3 and hand Chicago its sixth straight loss (0-5-1). Zibanejad scored from the right side after Dickinson slipped and the overtime 3-on-3 became a 3-on-2.
Last-place Chicago had scored only 11 goals in its previous 11 games. The Hawks were shut out four times in the 2-9-0 stretch.
"We finally got over that one-goal hump and now we have three and doing it the hard way," Blackhawks coach Luke Richardson said. "Maybe it should give us a little bit of confidence that we can do it." See more in video below.
Trailing 3-1 entering the third, it looked like another one-and-done loss for Chicago. The Blackhawks didn't come out with much energy in the final frame, but suddenly started pressuring and reeled off nine straight shots.
Foligno popped in a rebound with 6:32 left for his 11th goal to cut the Rangers' lead to 3-2. Dickinson deflected in Seth Jones' shot with 1:02 left and goalie Petr Mrazek on the bench.
That gave Dickinson 16 goals, one more than injured rookie Connor Bedard, and the team lead. Chicago's best two-way forward and a legitimate Selke Trophy candidate, Dickinson is a plus-7 on a team with a minus-74 goal differential.

"We gotta' try to find a way to play like that right from the start," said rookie defenseman Alex Vlasic, who gave the Blackhawks a quick lead with a goal 2:39 into the first. "When we get down a couple of goals, you know we take a few more risks and sometimes those pay off and we play a little bit more on our toes."

After Vlasic scored on a high screened shot, Alexis Lafrenière, Chris Kreider, and Jonny Brodzinski connected to put New York in charge 3-1.
Then the Blackhawks, led by de facto captain Foligno, pressured late. Shortly after missing on a Grade-A chance, Foligno popped in a rebound of Philipp Kurashev's shot to give Chicago some spark.
Kurashev finished with two assists and was one of Chicago's more visible players as the Blackhawks outshot the Rangers 12-4 in the third period.
Mrazek stopped 32 shots, including a pad save on Lafrenière's breakaway in OT. Igor Shesterkin finished with 28 saves.
Without NHL leading rookie scorer Bedard, the Blackhawks are 3-10-1. Bedard, who suffered a broken jaw on Brendan Smith's open ice hit in New Jersey on Jan. 5, is still a week or two away from returning.

Before the game, the Blackhawks announced details on the retirement of Hall-of-Fame defenseman Chris Chelios' No. 7 jersey prior to a contest against Detroit on Feb. 25. It promises to be an big event and Chicago native Chelios kicked off the buildup by opening a pop-up version of his family's former Cheli's Chili restaurant.
The 6-foot-6 Vlasic opened the scoring on a high shot from the top of the left circle. MacKenzie Entwistle cut across the crease to block Igor Shesterkin's view as the puck slipped under the crossbar.
Vlasic, from suburban Wilmette, Illinois, has two goals and nine assists and is a plus-3. He's averaging 21:24 of ice time per game, second only to defense partner Seth Jones.
Lafrenière tied it on a one-timer from the right side 2:10 later. Set up by K'Andre Miller's pass across the crease, Lafrenière shot ticked in off the right post.

Kreider put the Rangers ahead 2-1 just 87 seconds later, capitalizing after Boris Katchouck's left skate blade was knocked off after he blocked a shot.
Katchouk had to be pushed off the ice by Isaak Phillips. On the chaotic change, Kreider ripped in a shot from the left side of the crease off Adam Fox's feed.
Brodzinski upped it to 3-1 at 9:02 of the third when he jammed to the net and pushed in a loose rebound of Will Cuylle's shot from the left side. The puck had trickled away from Mrazek after his initial save.
Foligno put one in from the doorstep at 13:37 to close it to 3-2, then Dickinson tied it.
