Bedard is nowhere near Steve Larmer's team record for goals and points as a first-year skater.

The Blackhawks Connor Bedard scored on the power play against the Dallas Stars in a 3-2 win on Saturday to boost his NHL-leading rookie totals to 22 goals and 59 points.

That's one more goal than the 21 Blackhawks icon Patrick Kane bagged in his first season, 2007-08.
But Bedard, the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NHL Draft, is nowhere near Chicago's rookie scoring records.
The Blackhawks' mark for goal scoring by a first-year skater is 43, set by Steve Larmer in 1982-83. Larmer, who won the Calder Trophy that season, was the perfect complement on the right side of a line with Denis Savard at center and Al Second on left wing.
Larmer's 90 points, in 80 games in 1982-83, also stands as the record for Blackhawks rookies. He's the only first-year Chicago player to produce at better than a point-per-game pace.
Bedard's 59 points in 63games places him seventh among Chicago rookies for now. Next up on the list is Darryl Sutter, who banged in 40 goals and 62 points in 76 games in 1980-81.
Bedard leads all NHL rookies with 199 shots on goal. He squared off against first-year Minnesota defenseman Brock Faber, his top challenger for this season's Calder Trophy, on Sunday. See story in link.
