Don't be surprised if this Blackhawks forward puts together a strong breakout season.
The Chicago Blackhawks have many exciting young players in their system. Among them is forward Nick Lardis, as he has the potential to become a very good player for them in the future.
Lardis got into his first NHL action with the Blackhawks this past season, and it was a successful year for the 21-year-old forward. In 41 games with the Original Six club in 2025-26, he posted 10 goals and 15 points. These were solid numbers from the 2023 third-round pick.
Yet, when noting that Lardis has a ton of potential, it would not be surprising in the slightest if he has a big breakout year for Chicago in 2026-27.
If Lardis can tap into his offensive potential and break out as a true top-six winger, it would be huge for a Blackhawks club that is looking to take a step forward this season. He undoubtedly has the potential to do just that.
Lardis showed a lot of upside during the 2024-25 season with the Brantford Bulldogs of the OHL, as he recorded 71 goals and 117 points in 65 games. He was also very impactful in the AHL with the Rockford IceHogs this past season, posting 18 goals and 32 points in 35 games. With this, he has very good upside, and it will be interesting to see what he can do with Chicago this season from here.
