Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Spencer Knight took a nice step in the right direction last season.

The Darien, Connecticut native proved that he can handle being an NHL starting goalie, as he posted a .902 save percentage and a 2.82 goals-against average in 55 games. With this, he was easily one of the Blackhawks' bright spots from their tough 2025-26 season. 

Yet, it would not be surprising if Knight takes his game to another new level now that he has played a full season as a true starting goalie. At just 25 years old, he is still young enough where he may not have hit his ceiling.

If Knight continues to improve his game next season, it would be big for a Blackhawks club that is looking to be more competitive. There is no question that the 2019 first-round pick is an incredibly important part of Chicago's roster as their starting goalie, so all eyes should be on him in 2026-27. 

There is a lot to like about Knight's game, and it will be interesting to see if he take another step next season. Given how much promise he has shown early on in his Blackhawks tenure, it is hard not to feel optimistic about his future with the team.
