The Chicago Blackhawks should consider targeting these two Dallas Stars during the summer.
The Chicago Blackhawks should be on the hunt for more talent this off-season. One specific area that they could look to improve is their forward group.
One team that the Blackhawks should consider doing business with is the Dallas Stars. The Stars are entering the summer with limited cap space and could be forced to deal some of their players.
Because of this, let's look at two Stars who the Blackhawks should consider targeting this off-season.
Jason Robertson
If the Blackhawks want to add a proven superstar winger, Jason Robertson is one player from Dallas they should be calling about this summer. Robertson is a pending restricted free agent (RFA) and could be made available if negotiations do not go well between him and Dallas.
If the Blackhawks landed Robertson, he would finally give Connor Bedard a high-impact winger to work with. In 82 games this season with the Stars, Robertson had 45 goals, 51 assists, and 96 points.
Mavrik Bourque
Mavrik Bourque is another Stars forward who could be a strong fit on the Blackhawks. While he would not be as big of an addition as Robertson, he would still have the potential to be a strong pickup for Chicago if acquired.
Bourque just had a breakout year for the Stars, posting 20 goals and 41 points in 82 games. The 24-year-old is also capable of playing both down the middle and on the wing, so he would give Chicago another solid versatile forward to work with. Furthermore, with Bourque being so young, he still has the potential to hit a new level and could do that in a more significant role on the Blackhawks.
