The Blackhawks need a star winger in their top six, and Jason Robertson stands out as a clear option.

The Chicago Blackhawks could use a proven star winger in their top six next season. When looking at trade candidates around the league who could be strong fits on the Blackhawks, Dallas Stars forward Jason Robertson stands out in a major way.

Robertson is entering this off-season as a restricted free agent. With the Stars having limited cap space and Robertson due for a big raise from his current $7.75 million cap hit, there is a chance that the Stars could listen to offers for him this off-season. If they do, the Blackhawks would be wise to pursue him.

Robertson would be a perfect fit on the Blackhawks' first line with Connor Bedard if acquired. He would also give them another superstar to work with on their power play, which would be huge for a Blackhawks club that wants to be more competitive in 2026-27.

Robertson just had another strong year with the Stars, as he recorded 45 goals and 96 points in 82 games. This was the fourth season in a row that he recorded at least 80 points, which includes when he had 109 points in 2022-23. With numbers like these, he would, without a doubt, be an incredible linemate for Bedard to have. Robertson's skill could help Bedard hit a new level offensively.

Ultimately, with the Blackhawks needing a proven first-line winger, Robertson is a player worth considering. This is especially so when noting that he will only be turning 27 in July, which means he has many years left in his prime.
