Recently, the NHL's official Facebook account shared their defense projections for each Central Division club. Here's who they see playing together for the Chicago Blackhawks in 2025-26.
For the Blackhawks' first pairing, the NHL's account sees Alex Vlasic and Sam Rinzel playing together. This pairing would make a ton of sense, as Vlasic's steady defensive play could make him a perfect partner for an exciting prospect like Rinzel to play alongside. This would open the door for Rinzel to take more chances offensively, but also to learn from a defenseman who has been developing wonderfully in Vlasic.
The NHL's account sees Wyatt Kaiser playing alongside Connor Murphy on the Blackhawks' second pairing. Kaiser, of course, will first need to re-sign with the Blackhawks before we get the chance to potentially see this pairing, as he remains a restricted free agent. However, once Kaiser re-signs, he could certainly benefit from playing a defensive defenseman who has plenty of experience in Murphy.
For the Blackhawks' third pairing, the NHL's account sees Kevin Korchinski and Artyom Levshunov playing together. This would be a very intriguing pairing to see, as these are two Blackhawks first-round picks who are still working on their developments. Both have high upside, so perhaps they could benefit playing on the same pairing together in 2025-26.
