The Chicago Blackhawks re-signed forward Cole Guttman on Thursday to a one-year, two-way $775,000 AAV/cap hit contract that runs through the 2024-25 season.

The 25-year-old Guttman scored scored four goals and eight points in 27 games over three stints with the Blackhawks during 2023-24.

He spent most of the season with the AHL Rockford IceHogs where he notched 16 goals and 40 points in 38 games. Those were AHL career highs for the 5-foot-9, 167-pound forward.

The center started the season with the Blackhawks, but was assigned to Rockford after three games. He returned for two contests in November, then a 22-game run from Dec. 3, 2023 to Jan 19, 2024 when the Blackhawks were decimated by injuries. Guttman posted three goals and four assists in that span, and was a minus-15.

Guttman has totaled eight goals and 14 points in 41 career NHL games with Chicago over two seasons, and 32 goals and 70 points in 78 career AHL games with Rockford.

Guttman, a native of Northridge, California, played four seasons for the University of Denver. He was captain of the Pioneers as a senior in 2021-22 and helped lead them to an NCAA Championship.

Guttman was originally selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the sixth round (180th overall) of the 2017 NHL Draft.
