Blackhawks forward Taylor Hall returned to full practice on Wednesday, but will sit out a second straight game on Thursday when Chicago hosts the Tampa Bay Lightning.

In practice, the 32-year-old Hall skated on the left wing of a line with center Lukas Reichel and right wing Taylor Raddysh.

"He said he felt much better, but he's not going to go tomorrow," coach Luke Richardson said. "He might need just a little more work, so hopefully soon after that.

"Today was really encouraging. I thought he looked good out there."

Hall was hurt late in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Lightning in Tampa in a collision with Michael Eyssimont along the boards and hobbled off the ice favoring one leg. The forward missed four contests earlier this season with a shoulder injury suffered on a hit by Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo in Boston during the Blackhawks second game of the season.

Hall, the 2017-18 Hart Trophy winner, came to Chicago in a trade from Boston on June 26 to provide a veteran presence on a rebuilding team. The Hawks then selected center Connor Bedard first overall in the 2023 draft two days later.

The NHL's top draft selection in 2010, Hall started the season as a left winger on Bedard's line. The solidly-built 6-1, 210-pound forward has two goals and two assists in eight games and has brought an energized style so far.

Forward Andreas Athanasiou, also hurt in Tampa, was not in practice Wednesday. Defenseman Jarred Tinordi was placed on injured reserve with an oblique injury he sustained in the game with the Lightning.
