Chicago Blackhawks Are Least Represented Team at 2026 Olympics cover image

The Chicago Blackhawks are going to be the least represented team at the 2026 Olympics as the rosters have now been released. The Blackhawks are going to have one player going to the Olympics, tied with the New York Islanders.

The Blackhawks are going to see Teuvo Teravainen play for Team Finland, but someone like Connor Bedard was snubbed from Team Canada and Andre Burakovsky wasn't taken over a much worse choice for Team Sweden. If Belarus had a team at the Olympics, Artyom Levshunov and Dmitri Kuzmin would be headed there.

But the thing about the Blackhawks is that they are very well represented by Americans and Canadians, so those are very tough teams to make. Frank Nazar and Alex Vlasic got looks for Team U.S.A., but ultimately didn't get chosen.

The lone player representing the Islanders is Bo Horvat, who was selected to Team Canada, but while Bedard is a highly probable injury replacement, Matthew Schaefer is as well. While Burakovsky got snubbed for Team Sweden, Emil Heineman is in the same boat as someone who was a better choice than Pontus Holmberg.

And while the Blackhawks aren't really impacted by Russia not going to the Olympics because Ilya Mikheyev isn't quite good enough to be on that team, Ilya Sorokin of the Islanders definitely is.

There are five teams with two representatives and no teams with no representatives headed to the Olympics at this time.
