
Minnesota could be participant in the "Frozen Confines: Big Ten Hockey Series" at the 110-year-old home of the Chicago Cubs. Moore and Rinzel will be sophomores on the Gophers this season.

The Blackhawks and Connor Bedard will host the St. Louis Blues at Wrigley Field on New Year's Eve in the NHL's upcoming Winter Classic.
But the rink at the iconic North Side ballpark won't be yanked out immediately after that showcase game. Top NCAA teams will compete in "The Frozen Confines: Big Ten Hockey Series" after the Winter Classic.

The Big Ten participant schools and dates for their outdoor games will be announced on Thursday, Aug. 15 at Wrigley. Minnesota and Wisconsin top the list of likely programs to play at the 110-year-old home of the Chicago Cubs.
Moore, a speedy center, was ranked at the Blackhawks No. 1 prospect in The Hockey News 2024 Future Watch and will be sophomore at Minnesota next season. Rinzel, a defenseman and Moore's roommate at Minnesota, also will skate his sophomore season with the Gophers in 2024-25 See Moore in the following video.
Both Moore and Rinzel came on strong in the second half of the 2023-24 NCAA campaign for Minnesota. The two Twin Cities area natives got rolling after gaining confidence in helping Team USA to a gold medal at the 2024 World Junior Championship in Sweden in January.
Also taking part in Thursday's Frozen Confines announcement at Wrigley will be former Blackhawks and Wisconsin defenseman Chris Chelios and Jaime Faulkner, Blackhawks president of business operations.
