It just so happened to line up so former Chicago Blackhawks and current Minnesota Wild goalie Marc-Andre Fleury was in net when the teams played each other on Nov. 29. Fleury and the Wild came away with the win to push the veteran to a 5-0-1 record this season.
Fleury has been great for the Wild in his final year in the NHL. His farewell tour had to take him to Chicago to play possibly his final game with one of his former teams.
The 40-year-old got a win in Chicago one day after his birthday and saved 20 of 22 shots. He may only be playing once every four games or so and is the clear backup to Filip Gustavsson, but has really helped the Wild, who are looking to stay hot and get back into the playoffs this season, earn a point in all of his starts.
After a shootout loss to begin the season, the three-time Stanley Cup winner has won five in a row. He has a 2.64 GAA and .905 SV% this season, his 21st in the NHL in his career.

The least of the Blackhawks' problems are in net this season and they could have used the win, but it is still cool to see what Fleury is able to do at his age and after so many years of success around the NHL. Chicago got to be a stop for a legendary goalie who will go down as one of the all-time greats.
The Blackhawks were the last team Fleury played for before the Wild, being traded at the deadline in 2022. Chicago only got Fleury for 45 starts in the 2021-22 season where he went 19-21-5 with a .295 GAA, .908 SV%, and four shutouts. He did what he could and has had success in Minnesota since his time in Chicago.
While the Blackhawks lost, it's not the end of the world and everyone got to experience a special game from Fleury.
