There are not too many notable UFAs left now that it has been roughly a month since free agency started. Although this is the case, there are still some interesting players looking for their next deals. 

Among the top UFA forwards still available for the taking is former Chicago Blackhawks forward Philipp Kurashev. 

Kurashev remaining a UFA comes after the 26-year-old had a bit of a bounce-back season with the San Jose Sharks in 2025-26. In 43 games with San Jose this past season, he recorded seven goals and 20 points. With this, he was just shy of producing a point every two games. 

With Kurashev being only 26 years old and capable of producing decent secondary offensive production when playing at his best, it would not be surprising if another NHL team takes a chance on him this off-season. That's the case whether it's a one-year deal or a PTO. 

In 317 games over five seasons with the Blackhawks from 2020-21 to 2024-25, Kurashev posted 48 goals, 82 assists, and 130 points. His best season with Chicago was in 2023-24, when he set career highs with 18 goals, 36 assists, and 54 points.
