This former Blackhawks goalie is still a free agent at this point in the summer.
With September almost here, there are still a good amount of free agents looking for new homes.
Among the most notable goalies still unsigned at this stage of the summer is former Chicago Blackhawks netminder Petr Mrazek.
Mrazek still being a free agent comes after he had a tough 2025-26 season with the Anaheim Ducks. In just 10 games for the Pacific Division club, he posted a 3-5-0 record, an .858 save percentage, and a 4.07 goals-against average. This was after he had a 12-21-2 record, an .891 save percentage, and a 3.35 goals-against average in 38 games split between the Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings during the 2024-25 season.
Mrazek's 2025-26 season came to an early end, too, as he had hip surgery in February. With all of this, it is not necessarily surprising that the former Blackhawks goalie is still looking for his next home.
If Mrazek hopes to continue his career in the NHL, he may need to settle for a professional tryout (PTO) agreement. With the Blackhawks having Spencer Knight, Arvid Soderblom, and Drew Commesso, a reunion with Mrazek would be shocking to see.
In 128 games over three seasons with Chicago from 2022-23 to 2024-25, Mrazek posted a 38-72-9 record, an .899 save percentage, and a 3.34 goals-against average.
