Chicago shakes up lineup: Rookie D-men Kaiser and Phillips sent to Rockford. Tinordi activated, Crevier recalled. Story with video,

Forward Anthony Beauvillier, acquired from Vancouver on Tuesday, joined the Chicago Blackhawks and Connor Bedard on the team's top line in Winnipeg against the Jets on Saturday.

Chicago shook up its defense corps, too. Veteran Jarred Tinordi, who suffered an oblique injury in Tampa on Nov. 9, returned the lineup. D-man Louis Crevier was recalled from AHL Rockford.

The Blackhawks assigned rookie rearguards Wyatt Kaiser and Isaak Phillips to the IceHogs. Kaiser, 21, started the season strong with Chicago, but had tailed off and struggled in a 5-1 loss at Detroit on Thursday.

General manager Kyle Davidson swung the deal for Beauvillier, 26, within hours of placing 38-year-old Corey Perry on unconditional waivers to terminate his employment.

Chicago gave up only a conditional fifth-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft to acquire Beauvillier, who had two goals and eight points in 22 games with the Canucks.

Beauvillier is in the final season of a three-year contract that pays $4.15 million annually. Perry's one-year deal with the Blackhawks was set to pay $4 million.

Beauvillier, from Sorel-Tracy, Quebec was originally selected by the New York Islanders in the first round (28th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft. He has 237 points (113G, 124A) in 512 career regular-season NHL games with the Canucks and Islanders (2016-2023).
