
The NHL confirmed on Wednesday night the Chicago Blackhawks will host the St.Louis Blues in the league's 2025 Winter Classic at Wrigley Field, the iconic home of the Chicago Cubs.

The exact date and time for the game will be confirmed later, the league said in a news release. The event usually is held on New Year's Day. This will be a chance for the NHL to showcase current leading rookie scorer and 2023 top draft pick Connor Bedard on one its signature stages. The 2025 game will be televised on TNT in the U.S. and on Sportsnet and TVA Sports in Canada.

This will be the third time the Blackhawks have hosted the Winter Classic and the second time at Wrigley. The Hawks met the Detroit Red Wings in 2009 at the 110-year-old North Side ballpark, then played Pittsburgh at Soldier Field in 2014.
Following the Winter Classic announcement, the Blackhawks went on to lose their fifth straight on Wednesday.
