Guess you've got to settle for Macklin Celebrini this time. If you're a Blackhawks fan, make that Artyom Levshunov and Frank Nazar III.

A year after Connor Bedard was the center of attention at the NHLPA Rookie Showcase, there wasn't quite the buzz at the 2024 event in Arlington, Virginia.  Bedard, the No. 1 overall draft pick in 2023 and eventual Calder Trophy winner, drew media, fans and heightened excitement to the largely promotional prospect camp.

Celebrini, the forward selected first overall by San Jose in the June 2024 draft, was the top dog this year among 35 prospects. Defenseman Artyom Levshunov, chosen No. 2 by the Blackhawks this year, and Chicago forward Frank Nazar III also were at the camp, held in the MedStar Capitals IcePlex, the Washington Capitals' practice facility.

All of the prospects had their photos taken by Upper Deck for the the brand's rookie series trading cards. They also autographed memorabilia and took part in video shoots for EA Sports.

Levshunov and Nazar will now join other Blackhawks prospects for the Tom Kurvers Showcase in suburban St. Louis on Sept. 13-15. A squad of Chicago players, aged 18 to 22, will skate against kids from the St. Louis Blues and Minnesota Wild in the event after practicing at the Fifth Third Arena on the West Side next week.
