Report: Blackhawks Have Expressed Interest In Jason Robertson
Could the Blackhawks make another big splash?
Dallas Stars forward Jason Robertson is one of the NHL's biggest trade candidates at this point in the off-season. The superstar winger is a pending restricted free agent, and the Stars are having a very difficult time reaching his asking price for his next deal.
Robertson was also given permission by the Stars to have contract talks with the Seattle Kraken, but he ended up rejecting an eight-year contract offer that would have given him roughly $15 million per season.
The St. Louis Blues also made a serious trade offer for Robertson, but the Stars winger made it clear that he did not want to sign there.
The Kraken and Blues are not the only teams interested in Robertson, though. According to TSN's Pierre LeBrun, the Blackhawks have expressed interest in acquiring Robertson from Dallas.
"Dallas absolutely trying to figure out what the trade market is to protect itself. One team to keep an eye on, Seattle Kraken, they’re big game hunting. They have interest in Jason Robertson. Chicago among the other teams that has inquired," LeBrun said.
With the Blackhawks desperately needing a star winger to play with Bedard, it is very easy to understand why they have interest in Robertson. He would be the perfect linemate for Bedard as Chicago looks take a step forward in 2026-27.
Robertson appeared in 82 games during this past season with the Stars, where he posted 45 goals, 51 assists, and 96 points. With numbers like these, he would be a massive pickup for Chicago, and it will be interesting to see if they can land him from here.
