It still doesn't cost anything for fans to attend Chicago Blackhawks practices at Fifth Third Arena, but they need to get tickets online in advance.

Fans can watch Connor Bedard, the NHL's 2023 top draft pick, practice his moves and wicked shot up close and for free at Chicago Blackhawks practices starting on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2023 when training camp opens.

The team released its full preseason schedule on Monday at Blackhawks.com. Sessions will take place at the Fifth Third Arena, at 1801 W. Jackson Blvd. on Chicago's West Side and a few blocks south of the United Center.

Although most practices are open to the public, in a change this season fans must first get a free ticket to attend. Fans can visit Blackhawks.com/Practices to claim up to four tickets for their preferred date (subject to availability), with all tickets distributed for mobile entry via the Blackhawks app or mobile wallet.

Doors for the public will open approximately 30 minutes prior to the scheduled practice start time. Practice schedules are subject to change or cancelation, typically within 12-24 hours of each practice date, which will be communicated to ticketholders via email.

Top Chicago defenseman prospect Kevin Korchinski and leading goaltending prospect Drew Commesso will be among players on the ice. It's also a chance to see D-men Nolan Allan and Ethan Del Mastro, as well as forward Colton Dach, who were Bedard's teammates on Canada's goal medal winning World Junior Championship team in 2023.

The Blackhawks will play six exhibition games this fall, starting on Sept. 28 against the St. Louis Blues at the United Center. Chicago will host the Detroit Red Wings on Oct. 3 and the Minnesota Wild on Oct. 5.

The Blackhawks also will meet the Blues, Red Wings and Wild on the road in preseason contests.

Bedard is expected to be in the lineup when Chicago opens its regular season on Oct. 10 at Pittsburgh. The center could take the opening faceoff against Sidney Crosby, one of the stars the 18-year-old "next generational talent" has idolized and been compared to.
