New Blackhawks forward Taylor Hall, acquired from Boston just before the NHL Draft in June, sat out the first day of Chicago's training camp with a lower-body injury.
Coach Luke Richardson said he didn't think Hall's condition was serious, but was awaiting additional information. Forwards Colin Blackwell and Jalen Luypen also missed Thursday's opening on-ice sessions with lower-body injuries.

Blackhawks general manager Kyle Davidson acquired Hall and the rights to free agent forward Nick Foligno from the Bruins on June 26 to give his team two veterans who could make an immediate impact and support Connor Bedard and other youngsters. Chicago sent defensemen Ian Mitchell and Alec Regula to the Bruins.
The 31-year-old Hall is entering the third season of.a four-year contract that pays $6 million annually. Like Bedard, Hall was a highly touted first-round draft pick, taken by Edmonton in 2010.
Hall truly found his stride after being traded to the New Jersey Devils in 2016. He won the Hart Trophy as NHL MVP with the Devils in 2017-18.
In New Jersey, Hall played left wing on a line with speedy Swiss rookie center Nico Hischier, who had been picked first overall in the 2017 NHL Draft at the United Center. Hall helped push the pace for Hischier. Hischier, now a star with the Devils and their captain, did the same for Hall.
The Blackhawks are banking on Hall having the same sort of chemistry with Bedard.
