The Blackhawks made a major splash when they brought in defenseman Bowen Byram. However, they should not be done yet.

The Chicago Blackhawks made a major splash earlier this week when they acquired Bowen Byram from the Buffalo Sabres. They needed to upgrade the left side of their blueline, and landing Byram helped them do just that.

However, when looking at the Blackhawks' roster, it is clear that they should not be done making moves yet. They still desperately need to add a legitimate top-six winger for Connor Bedard.

The Blackhawks simply need more offense if they hope to take a step forward next season. Furthermore, bringing in a proven top-six winger could help Bedard hit a new level as the young star continues to grow his game.

The Blackhawks' best bet to add a top-six winger is through the trade market at this point. The two big star trade candidates who would make a lot of sense for the Blackhawks to target are Jason Robertson and Matthew Knies. However, there are also other players like Jake DeBrusk, Brock Boeser, and Owen Tippett who would have the potential to boost Chicago's top six if acquired.

It will be interesting to see if the Blackhawks can bring in a true top-six winger this off-season. It is clear that this is their biggest need right now.
