"Random Fan" Kyle Davidson Plays With Preds Podcast

Before taking Connor Bedard with the No. 1 pick at the NHL Draft on Wednesday, Blackhawks general manager Kyle Davidson had a little fun taking a walk in Nashville.

Out for some fresh air with associate GM Jeff Greenberg, Davidson was approached by a crew from a podcast and website that covers the Predators for a "man on the street" video about hockey and the draft. The podcast team didn't recognize Davidson, the NHL's youngest GM.

Davidson, wearing a t-shirt and backwards baseball cap, first declined the interview. But then he thought it might be fun to go back and speak as "Kyle from Chicago." See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnDmLH6dTqk

"I made the comment to Jeff it was kind of funny that they don't know who we are and what we do," Davidson said after the draft. "The next thing, you know what, I'm going back."

Davidson said had to wait for two people were wearing Patrick Kane and Brandon Saad jerseys — who also didn't recognize him.

Once the interview started, Davidson said he got a little nervous when the podcaster asked him to name NHL players. He could have gone on for hours, but Davidson was worried he might skip one or two he's worked with.

"If this comes out that they realize what I do and I stumble and can't name players, I'm in big trouble," Davidson said. "The pressure's on. I was waiting for them to cut me off."
