Kane, who signed a free agent deal with Detroit in November, received a huge ovation — with two curtain calls — from the crowd. Kane, drafted first overall by the Blackhawks in 2007, was traded last February to the New York Rangers. He then signed with the Wings following successful hip resurfacing surgery. Kane is second only to Stan Mikita in points on the Blackhawks all-time list with 1,225 in 1,161 contests. Kane and Bedard are the only first-overall draft picks in Blackhawks history. Kane went on to help Chicago to Stanley Cups in 2010, 2013 and 2015. GAME FLOW Chicago had several prime chances in the first period Sunday, but Detroit's Daniel Sprong opened the scoring wtih 41 seconds left in the frame. Sprong lunged into a shot from the left circle and beat Mrazek through a screen for his 16th goal. Entwistle powered to the net and jammed the puck past Reimer at 3:29 of the second to tie it. He was set up by Reese Johnson's feed from behind the net. Bedard's shot from the left circle ticked in off Foligno, who was parked in front late in the period, to make it 2-1.
