The Hart Memorial Trophy winner and ballot have been revealed, with Tampa Bay Lightning's Nikita Kucherov winning the trophy for the second time in his career.
The trophy is an annual award given "to the player adjudged to be the most valuable to his team."
The winner is selected in a poll of the Professional Hockey Writers Association in all NHL cities at the end of the regular season, using a 5-place voting system with points awarded 10-7-5-3-1.
Nathan MacKinnon finished third in voting with 1,297 points behind Connor McDavid (1426) and Kucherov (1436). MacKinnon was also joined by three other Avalanche teammates.
Cale Makar finished tied for 12 with 5 points (0-0-0-1-2), Scott Wedgewood in 17th (0-0-0-1-0) and Gabriel Landeskog tied for 23rd (0-0-0-0-1)
