With a 5-4 in overtime in Game 5, forward Christian Humphreys and the Kitchener Rangers secured the Wayne Gretzky Trophy and are onto the OHL finals, beating the Windsor Spitfires in five games.

Humphreys struggled a bit in the second round against the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds only recorded one goal and an assist in five games, but turned it around in the conference finals. In five games, he finished with two goals and six assists for eight points.

In the series clinching 5-4 win, he scored a goal and an assist. He assisted on the teams opening goal after being down 3-0 to start the game. Then his goal game in the second period to cut their deficit to one before the spitfires would retake a 2-goal lead.

They now await the winner of the Brantford Bulldogs versus Barrie Colts series, which currently stands 3-2 in favor of the Bulldogs. The next game is tonight, May 2, at 7:30 pm EST, which could see the Bulldogs finish the series in six games or the Colts force a Game 7.
