With a 4-3 win in overtime against Tropedo Nizhny Novgorod, Metallurg Magnitogorsk, and goalie Ilya Nabokov are heading to the KHL semi-finals against Ak Bars Kazan.

Similar to fellow KHL prospect Mikhail Gulyayev, Nabokov hasn't had his best season in the KHL. A 22-7-5 record in 38 games played with a .901 SV% and a 2.74 GAA isn't bad at all. Though in the playoffs, he hasn't gotten many chances in net, playing only two games and posting a 1-1-0 record with a .936 save percentage and a 1.77 GAA, he's looking more like a backup this playoff run instead of the main starter.
