With a 4-3 loss in overtime in Game 7, Colorado Avalanche defensemen prospect Mikhail Gulyayev and the Avangard Omsk have been eliminated by the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl

Despite scoring just one goal and two assists for three points in 54 regular season games, Gulyayev really turned things up heading into the playoffs. Finishing with one goal and four assists for five points in 17 games while taking one one penalty.

Its going to be interesting now to see how the Avalanche handle him as his contract is officially up come May. We could see one of two things, either sign his ELC and join the Eagles now and stay in North America for do what they did with Ilya Nabokov, which is sign his ELC and loan him for one more season in the KHL.
