If the 2026 NHL Playoffs were to end today, the Colorado Avalanche would be facing off against the Los Angeles Kings in round 1.  Though they sit just one point ahead (87) of the Nashville Predators (86) for the last spot in the Western Conference wild card spot. 

While the Predators can move up and take the Kings' spot, the Kings still have three games left, while the Predators have only two remaining. So a loss for the Pred's can put their playoff chances to rest.
