Sportsnet Elliotte Friedman just reported that Detroit Redwings captain, Dylan Larkin is requesting a trade.
Friedman in the article states Larkins reasoning for requesting a move because of the redwings lack of making the playoffs and what seems to be a tear in the relationship between him and the teams top hockey executive.
Now Larkin does have a full no-move clause, so it will be up to him to decide whether to waive that clause for a certain trade, but right as the news broke, the one team many had him going to was the Minnesota Wild.
It showed in the playoffs with Joel Eriksson Ek out with an injury that the team's center depth was not good enough for a deep playoff run. General Manager Bill Guerin knows Larkin pretty well, having helped run Team United States for the Olympics, and could use that relationship to his advantage in a trade, much like he did with Quinn Hughes.
Now, 31 other teams might be interested in Larkin, but adding a team whose major question on their roster was center depth, and adding a player like Larkin, will make the Avalanche's life pretty difficult if he is moved there.
