After unable to close out the series at home in Game 5, the Colorado Avalanche played a tightknit game in Game 6 to secure the 2-1 win and take home their third Stanley Cup in franchise history.
After a less-than-ideal first period that saw Steven Stamkos open the scoring just three minutes into the period, the Avalanche looked to flip the script, and that's what they did in the second period.
Off a delayed penalty, MacKinnon would tie the game 1-1 just two minutes into the second period, and it would be Artturi Lehkonen who would score 11 minutes later to make it 2-1 and eventually be the game winner to win the Stanley Cup and name Cale Makar as the Conn Smythe Trophy winner.
